Exhibits Under Development
We believe in creating lasting relationships with
our customers so we have developed a unique feature for smallEXHIBITS.com. We
will use the communications and conversational power of the Internet to allow
our customers to help shape the projects in our pipeline. We believe in
client driven experiences and that you have a huge stake in the exhibits you
will be renting in the future. So why not (we love the phrase "why
not") give you a chance to tell us what you think about our developing
ideas and what you need in an exhibit experience. We intend to find out
what will work for you and your visitors, then build it. Underwater Forest
When we mention forests we think of vast and perhaps threatened groves of
redwoods, oaks, everglades or rainforests but there is another realm of
spectacular underwater forests hugging coastlines around the world.
Abundantly rich and teaming with amazing diversity, kelp forests skirt the
Atlantic and Pacific coasts of the United States. These cool water forests
sway with tides and currents supporting a delicate ecology of marine mammals,
plant life, fish, mollusks, crustaceans and other wonderous creatures all
dancing in intricate balance. smallEXHIBITS.com, in conjunction with
scientists, artists and naturalists, is developing an immersion experience in a
simulated but "dry" interactive kelp forest. In a maze-like
environment hung with fabulous undulating bull kelp, visitors will encounter the
wide variety of life, take on the role of certain creatures, learn their natural
history and how they interact with other animals and plants at all levels of the
forest. The forest is populated with amazing creatures from bat stars to
horn sharks to octopuses. The exhibits will connect your visitor with
concepts in roles of kelp forest inhabitants. They will enter an
environment created by leading set designers in partnership with marine
scientists. We'd like your opinion of this concept.
Tell us what you think. "How to Think Like Rube Goldberg"
Rube Goldberg is a ™ and © of Rube Goldberg, Inc.
Rube Goldberg was a cartoonist who satirized America's preoccupation with
technology. He was convinced that technophiles could take anything simple
and make it incredibly complicated. In honor of that thinking schools and
universities around the country conduct annual "Rube Goldberg"
contests designed to bring out the ingenuity and creativity of
participants. The results are wonderful and often wacky. For
example, in twenty-five interdependent steps, create a contraption that blows up
a balloon or squeezed toothpaste onto a brush. smallEXHIBITS.com is
designing an experience that will allow your visitors to "think like Rube
Goldberg" by creating their own results getting devices with family,
caregivers or with other visitors. We will create the scenarios, offer
start-up strategies and supply the ingredients. Beyond the experience
itself we will provide you with outlines for contests and competitions in your
community. We'll help you solidify your reputation as a creative center in
your community. Check out our conceptual design for "How
to Think Like Rube Goldberg"!
